I am going to tell a story the ways we used to have among us , and , ah
  rikstaa’iiwaáwaatuuki raa’iitusickírihki tiwirahúraarawicpu
, when they told stories coyote stories when the time was approaching
tiwiriihí’aari ríckuhki hi rikstaa’iiwaáwaatu
when it was becoming fall and when they were telling stories

their sitting around the fire .

Wituksítat hi iraarítat tíkskurit ahiciksaarihusuuku
There was a camp and that camp close by what they used to do
kúrakuuru rakuwaaraáruhat a rakukatuúsuhat  
its being somewhere to be mountains and to be a creek ,
rakukiícuhat   hi taruuraákita rakuwariisí’u
to be running water ; and that was the reason to be sheltered
iwirahuutuurawiícahu   kararákuuti rikukiirarahu a
when a wind was approaching , its not being far to bring water and
rakuhattárihuuru   kaátuhaaru’ ráku’u   rakukari’ú rákis  
to be thick timber , a wooded valley to be , to be plenty wood ,
irikuraruuraakita rakutaruucuha .
its being the reason to make a fire .
Rikuwitucukstuuhúru’ kiíci iraruksuriiwaawi raa’iitusickírihki
That was the way it was but when they lived coyote stories
iwiraruuraa’iiwaati rikurakuúraa’u .
when one told it its being the way .

Ráwa iraarítat cústit ti’ahaakaríku hi aharúhku
Now (in) that camp an old woman she had a home here and she had him
piíraski .

Hi ahiwáku’     Tíki   kariisika’iísat irahkahuráhku =.
And she said : ' Sonny , don't go in the timber that timber !
Kariisika’iísat =. Títaku ruurakuúwari tíkskurit =.
Don't go in the timber ! Here go around close by !

When they went in the timber boys , he did not come out of the timber .

Then he thought : ' Let me go a little (farther) (in) this timber .
  Hi áhaka’at .
" And he went in the timber .

Aáka   wiruu’ahiíra’ cápaat .
Oh , now there she came a woman .
  Ráwa   tíki .
' Hello , sonny .
Aáka   iriwitúraahi .
Oh , that is good .
Síksa’ =.  
Come ! "

Híru ahí’at .
Then he went .

  Uúka   tíki   rikutatuutawátuu’u .
' Oh , sonny , I have been lonesome for you .
Aáka   táticka’ táku raáku’aa tiiriirasuútuu’a .
Oh , I wish someone for him to come as you are here .
Rikucuksuhuuraáruuku’ =. Taciksuhuhkaáhu’ =.   Cápaat    
Let him now sing for me ! Let us dance now ! " The woman : '
Tatiriihuráhku iriiratihkaáhusuku hi riíticka irátihkaahu
I have a place where I always dance and I want as I am dancing
irikuuhaáruuku .
for him to sing for me .

Híru ahiwáku’ piíraski     Ruu’iriwitúraahi .
Then he said the boy : ' That is good .
Tactawírara .
I have songs .
Ráwa híru =.  
Now go on ! "

Ráwa ruusiriítiwa .
Now we (ex du) went there .
  hirú rikuuciráska’at .
Oh , there she took me in the timber .
Riisikuuhatuuta siratiruhuúricpatpa .
However we (ex du) did it we (ex du) went out into a clearing .
Wi hirú ahiíka .
Now there there was a dwelling .

  Aáka   iraarakaáwi rikutatkaáku .
' Oh , that dwelling yonder that is where I live .
Títaku riiriíhi’ .
Here it is the place .
  Witisakuhtiiriwíraahat .
" It was afternoon .
  Wískucu’ =. Ruuriraaparu’ =. Isiirawikaáraa’ =. Tiksuhuhkaáhu’
' Hurry ! Let's hurry ! Sing ! Let me dance now
=. Ciruksuhuhkaá’ =.  
! Let's dance now ! "

Híru ahiwáku’ iraáriki piíraski     Ráwa .
Then he said that one boy : ' Alright .

Híru si’ahaakaáhusitit .
Then they (du) began dancing .
Witaawikaáraa piíraski .
He sang the boy .

Tíraariki cústit witiwáku’     Aáka   tíki  
This one an old woman she said : ' Oh , sonny ,
witasuhwákari .
you have a good voice .

  Kituú’ riwitihwaki’aáhu’     Tasuhwákari    
' All that is what they say , ` You have a good voice , '
tirahaarukú raákukaahu raakurahkaáhu raakuriihaáti’u cápaat
what I sing when one dances when they dance their liking it the woman

  Ráwa wiriitihkaahísta .
' Now I am going to dance .
Siksawikaáraa’ =. Ruu tiítaku witatpústa .
Sing ! There here I am going to go .
Títaku riitaspústa tirakaahurahkatiítu .
Here you are going to go (on) the north .

Ruurasaákaku siwitiwaárit ruu’ahiihuraárit .
There in the south they (du) stood that land there .
Kuwituúhuraa ahikspakiíhusuku ahiksawuúsuku
The ground was like as they used to say where they used to play
sirihkuuhurariirika ruukararakuhawastactawi
for them to clean the place for there to be weeds there
ruurakuuhurahkicísparihit .
to be slick ground there .
Ráwa cústit ahaa’uuriírit   hi ahaáwikaaraa’ piíraski .
Now the old woman she stood there , and he sang the boy .

  Ráwa   cústit   witatiirawikaaraahista .
' Now , old woman , I am going to begin to sing .
Ráwa raákukaahu =.  
Now dance ! "

  Ráwa siksawikaára’ =.  
' Now sing ! "

Now you are going to do it harder when you are going to be dancing .
Kaasiihakstarahkísari’ raákukaahu .
You must dance harder when one dances .

I like it , ha i ra i , when it's sprinkling , ha i ra i .

I like it , ha i ra i , when the water comes against it , ha i ra i .

Tatiriiciraati’   ha i ra i   raakukicpihtakusahu   ha i ra i .
I like it , ha i ra i , when it's sprinkling , ha i ra i .

They were moving past as they were dancing .
Cústit   a cápaat iraariki   tiwáku’     Aáka
The old woman , and woman that one , she said : ' Oh
tiraáta     hítaku witutpí’uu’aari’     Aáka  
this one going , " the other way he was facing , ' Oh ,
wituurahíhti .
he is fat .
kuúsiraa itpaáwaa .
It will be good when I eat him .
  Wituuhaá’ihku iraariki piíraski .
" She meant that one boy .
  Kuúsiraa itpaáwaa .
' It will be good when I eat him .

  Ráwa ístu’ =. Ráwa   cústit   ruuwitacitpi’uu’aá’ista
' Now again ! Now , old woman , we'll turn there
tirakaáhurahkatiitu .
(on) the north .
  Hi siihutpií’uu’a hi ahaawikaáraa’ .
" And they (du) turned and he sang .
  Ráwa tactawiikiriwiihuukusta .
' Now I am going to sing a different song .
Títiri tastaatarahkistuksta hi rikuraaruuraákita
Now you are going to do it harder and that will be the reason
rakuraahiiriitiku irasíhkaahu .
to be doing it better when you are dancing .

Now she said the old woman : ' Yet now let's see .
Iíka’   witikutastacariikiwatat .
Oh , my moccasins came untied .
